The TechniRouter 5/2x8 G is the new single-cable solution by TechniSat, and will be presented for the first time at the international broadcasting show in Berlin (IFA).
The TechniRouter single-cable system allows you to easily feed digital satellite TV and radio programmes into an existing cable network, without any restrictions, using an 85 cm satellite dish (e.g. SATMAN 850 with Quatro LNB). The TechniRouter facilitates the changeover of residential buildings with existing cable structures to digital television reception, with a minimum of fuss and cost.
The new TechniSat TechniRouter will presumably be available via the specialist retail trade in spring 2008.

The TechniRouter allows you to easily feed digital satellite programmes into an existing cable network, providing reception throughout the network, so that any tree-shaped structures or serial structures already in place can continue to be used. Additional digital added value services such as, for example, the editorially enhanced TechniSat electronic programme guide „SiehFern INFO“, as well as other added value TechniSat services available free of charge, such as the ISIPRO (programme list assistant) and TechniMatic (automatic software update via satellite) can, of course, also be received via the TechniRouter.
The TechniRouter single-cable solution can also be expanded
The TechniRouter allows 16 parties to be supplied with satellite programmes. The TechniRouter is equipped with five inputs, consisting of four satellite and one terrestrial input, as well as two outputs for eight parties each.
By combining the basic unit TechniRouter 5/2x8 G with the cascade unit 5/2x8 K you have the option of expanding the installation to supply a multitude of parties.
The powerful mains adapter of the basic unit is capable of handling up to four additional cascade units.
This means the system can supply digital satellite programmes to as many as 80 parties. The following TechniSat digital receivers are already „TechniRouter Ready“: TechniSat Multymedia TS 1, Digit STR 1 and DigiCorder S2.
