The DigiCorder HD S2 is Made in Germany, features a high level of operating convenience as well as sharp picture quality, and allows you to immerse yourself in the future of high-definition television.
In addition to digital radio and TV programmes, the DigiCorder HD S2 also allows you to receive HDTV programmes (MPEG 4) via satellite. The TechniSat DigiCorder HD S2 is an HDTV receiver featuring an integrated 160 Gigabyte hard disk as standard (500 GB optional), it also features an HDMI interface (including HDCP), CONAX decoding system, TWIN-Tuner, two COMMON INTERFACE slots for additional decoding systems and an USB 2.0- as well as an Ethernet interface.
In addition, the DigiCorder HD S2 is equipped with the integrated TechniSat DigiButler services ?SiehFern INFO Plus?, TechniMatic, ISIPRO as well as AutoInstall. The DigiCorder HD S2 (160 GB) will be provided to the specialist retail market at a recommended retail price of 599,99 ?.
Digital Multitalent
The DigiCorder HD S2 is an exceptional digital satellite receiver. Thanks to its integrated hard disk you will be able to become your own programme director, for both SD and HD programmes. The DigiCorder HD S2 provides an extremely convenient recording and playback function.
The integrated CONAX decoding system, which is equipped with two SmartCard readers enables the DigiCorder HD S2 to receive encrypted Pay-TV programmes. The TechniSat SmartCard supplied allows you to receive CONAX-encrypted programmes such as MTV unlimited, the RADIOROPA audio book channels and the TechniSat-Radio Bouquet.
In addition, the DigiCorder HD S2 features two COMMON INTERFACE slots, so that two additional decoding systems can be used in parallel with CONAX.
This is an ideal feature for those viewers who wish to view Pay-TV programmes from several different providers. Also, apart from the HDMI interface for digital sound and video signals, the DigiCorder HD S2 features two Scart connections, which can be used as analogue input and output connections. AutoInstall, the installation assistant, provides simple, automatic initial installation of your receiver. The user-friendly, easy to read on-screen menu provides a choice of 14 languages. In addition, the DigiCorder HD S2 features an alpha-numeric display, showing the name of the programme or the name of the radio station directly on the elegant front panel. The DigiCorder HD S2 is available in silver and black versions.
You need never again miss a favourite programme
If you do not always have time during the week to view your favourite programmes, the timer programming via the integrated programme information service ?SiehFern INFO Plus? of the TechniSat DigiCorder HD S2 provides the opportunity to record the TV or radio programme on the integrated hard disk, and then to view this in peace and quiet over the weekend. The programme information service ?SiehFern INFO Plus?, which is provided free of charge, allows you to compile programme contents individually and directly. "SiehFern INFO Plus" is an expanded variant of the well-known and popular TechniSat programme guide ?SiehFern INFO?. The new version, known as ?SiehFern INFO Plus? really makes the purchase of a printed programme guide superfluous, as the feature provides outstanding, editorially enhanced programme information on more than 70 channels, and provides additional picture material for up to seven days in advance.
TWIN-Tuner technology
The DigiCorder HD S2 supports time-shifted television viewing with a single keystroke.Using its TWIN-Tuner, the DigiCorder HD S2 can receive two different digital programmes via satellite simultaneously, allowing you to record one programme while simultaneously viewing another programme.
This function is particularly valuable when you are in a situation where your partner might want to view a football game, while you would prefer to see something else. The TWIN-Tuner technology allows you to record your favourite programme, while your partner can at the same time follow his football game.
Timeshift
If you are interrupted, for instance, by a phone call while you are viewing a television programme, you can interrupt the programme simply by pressing the ?Pause? key on the remote control. The receiver will record the remainder of the programme in the background, and you can pick up viewing from the point at which you were interrupted once you have completed the phone call.
In addition, special editing functions provided with the DigiCorder HD S2 allow you to remove scenes or sections you do not wish to see.
TechniMatic ? automatic software updates via satellite
The TechniMatic feature allows you to update the receiver?s operating software automatically via satellite. The TechniMatic software updating function of the DigiCorder HD S2 allows new functions to be downloaded via satellite, thus adding new features to your receiver. In addition, the TechniMatic Auto-Update function ensures your receiver software is always totally up to date.
Always up to date thanks to ISIPRO
The TechniSat DigiCorder HD S2 is equipped with the ISIPRO programme list manager. This provides automatic updates of the programme list whenever there are frequency changes, when new programmes become available or when existing programmes are switched off, thus sparing TechniSat users the bothersome additional work involved in carrying out manual programming.
The data for ISIPRO is broadcast regularly and free of charge via a capacity that has been permanently leased on the ASTRA 19,2° East satellite system, and is broadcast to all digital satellite receivers and HD-Vision sets equipped with the ISIPRO feature. Unlike other programme list managers available in the market, ISIPRO does not dictate to the user when he should accept a new programme list.
Using easy-to-read information windows, ISIPRO informs the viewer directly on the television screen of any frequency changes, of new programmes and of programmes that have been switched off. The viewer can then decide individually whether the programme list being offered should be downloaded, rejected, or parked with the intention of downloading it later. Programme lists individually configured by the viewer are not overwritten, but are added to automatically and individually.
A multitude of connection options
The SCART connections of the DigiCorder HD S2 provide the facility of connecting DVD players and other external components to the system. Apart from an electrical output for Dolby Surround sound in the AC3 format, the DigiCorder HD S2 is also equipped, via an HDMI interface with HDCP support, for connection with all HD-ready television sets and beamers. In addition, a component video output in Y Pb Pr format provides analogue transmission of the HDTV picture signal to projectors not equipped with an HDMI connection.
One of the special features of the DigiCorder HD S2 is the multitude of options for establishing connections with PC?s and with external data carriers.
The USB 2.0 port on the front panel is easily accessible, allowing data carriers such as USB sticks or external hard disks to be connected. In addition, the DigiCorder HD S2 features an Ethernet interface. As an additional highlight, the receiver supports a USB-WLAN adapter (available as an optional accessory), and can thus be connected with the wireless home network. This allows you to transport, for example, digital photographs, music or other data from the DigiCorder HD S2 to the PC, and vice versa.
