New InternetRadio 1 by TechniSat

06.02.2007

More than 1000 radio stations available anywhere in the building – without cablesTechniSat has started supplying its new Internet radios to the specialist retail trade. The new product is called „InternetRadio 1“. It is equipped with integrated but detachable loudspeakers, features W-LAN on board and will bring more than 1000 pre-selected radio stations from 33 countries around the world into your home or office – and all that without any need for an additional PC. TechniSat has also paid consideration to making operation as easy and convenient as possible, with stations clearly sorted by countries and genres, making it easy to find and select one’s favourtie programmes.

Operation is child’s play
The configuration and operation of the radio is child’s play and easy to use for anybody! Simply connect the InternetRadio 1 to an existing router via LAN or WLAN. Plug & Play functionality ensures the device is immediately ready to use – without any complicated installation procedures. Settings are made via the remote control unit supplied with the radio.

Outstanding quality combined with great design!
The design of the InternetRadio 1 really is worth looking at! Choose from several trendy colour options – black-silver, black-titanium or black-platinum. Depending on the station selected, the blue LCD display will show various data (such as, for example, station resp. programme name, song title, mono or stereo sound, transmission rate in kbps, Internet address). If the data is too long for the available display width, the text will be scrolled. The peripheral sections of the display are reserved for specific status information (signal strength resp. LAN on the left, buffer status on the right).
Preferred stations can be stored on one of the total of ten memory slots. The programme list is updated automatically, and is provided by TechniSat as a special added value service, free of charge.

TechniSat Radio Bouquet
Unencrypted reception via the InternetRadio 1!
In addition to the numerous radio stations available, the owner of a TechniSat InternetRadio 1 additionally gets to receive and enjoy the TechniSat Radio Bouquet. The TechniSat Radio Bouquet is normally encrypted using CONAX, and is available via satellite (ASTRA 19,2º East) for only 20 € annually. However, the InternetRadio 1 allows you to receive the programmes of the TechniSat Radio Bouquet free of charge for a limited period. The TechniSat Radio Bouquet provides 15 niche radio channels, covering many different genres. For instance, outstanding classical music can be found on Euroklassik 1, Radio Viola and STAR*SAT Klassik, while current chart hits can be found on STAR*SAT Hit-Express and Radio Swiss Pop. Other genres are also covered by the Radio Bouquet, such as jazz (e.g. Radio Swiss Jazz or Jazztime), Oldies (STAR*SAT Gold) and Country (STAR*SAT Country) – and all without advertising breaks!

Best sound quality
A sophisticated loudspeaker system ensures the best sound quality possible. The side-mounted loudspeakers are also detachable! In addition, the InternetRadio 1 can also be connected to the television set or to your home hi-fi system. The radio comes equipped with all the necessary connection options.

Music anywhere in your home
A further impressive feature ist he support of the UPnP standard (Universal Plug & Play), providing direct access and control of appliances or devices via the network, independent of the manufacturer of any component. If your home is appropriately connected, you can send music files in ASX, M3U, MP3, WAV or WAX format from the computer to the InternetRadio 1 via your home network. That can be extremely useful in many cases, e.g. if you would like to listen to your own MP3 collection in other rooms, without any limitations. The only addition you need to install your own home web radio is some software that can be downloaded from the Internet free of charge. The InternetRadio 1 is available with immediate effect in the specialist trade in the black/silver version, with the black/titanium version to follow shortly. The recommended retail price in Germany is 249,99 €.

The TechniSat group of companies has also established a production facility in Oborniki, close to Wraclaw in Poland since the autumn of 2006. This facility produces items exclusively for the markets in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and also for Portugal. The establishment of the TechniSat facility in Poland has enabled us to get back production demand from the Far East to a member country of the EU, a benefit also for other companies. We see this as a contribution to the concept of Made in Europe. Made in Germany is a seal of approval for products made in Germany, Made in Europe is for products made in EU member states.
