The licence is effective from 1. January 2005, and is at this stage valid for 7 years.

TechniSat will make the programmes of its radio and music bouquet available step by step, broadcasting via the Astra satellite at 19,2° East. The first two programmes, Euroklassik 1 and Radio Viola, are to commence as early as mid-February. The other programmes will follow over a period of time.

In addition, TechniSat will take on Jazz Radio from Berlin and Radio Caroline from London in its new radio and music bouquet. Jazz Radio and Radio Caroline have already been available via the TechniSat radio and music bouquet for a few weeks. Radio Wilantis from Stuttgart will be added very shortly.

The TechniSat radio and music bouquet is to be encrypted soon, using the Conax CA system. Owners of a TechniSat DIGIT MF4-S digital satellite receiver will be given access to the TechniSat radio and music bouquet free of charge for a whole year. The TechniSat DIGIT MF4-S is equipped with an integrated Conax decoding system, and is moreover equipped with a Common Interface (CI) to accept an additional CA module on board, i.e. it is open for an additional encryption system.

Of course, the TechniSat radio and music channels can also be received by all other digital satellite receivers equipped with either an embedded Conax CA system, or that have a Common Interface (CI) facility for accepting a Conax CA module ? such receivers have for a few weeks now also been produced by TechniSat.

Interested consumers who would like to receive the TechniSat radio and music bouquet using receivers made by other manufacturers, or using CA modules supplied by other companies, can sign up for a subscription beginning in early February. A list of rates will be published by TechniSat soon.

TechniSat is the market leader in Germany for digital receivers for direct satellite reception, for digital cable reception as well as for the new digital terrestrial television broadcasts known as DVB-T.

You can find additional information on the TechniSat DIGIT MF4-S, which allows you to enjoy the TechniSat radio and music bouquet free of charge for a whole year, on the Internet at www.technisat.de
