France 24 and TechniSat Launch Connected Television Application

17.02.2012

FRANCE 24 is now available throughout Europe on every TechniSat connected TV set and set-top box.

FRANCE 24, the international news channel available in 235 million households in over 200 countries, is launching a new application for connected television sets. This move marks another milestone in its technological development as well as major step towards worldwide multimedia presence.

The new application will enable users to watch FRANCE 24 live in its three language versions (French, English and Arabic) and also tune into its global on-demand programs (reports, programmes, magazines, etc.)

Television combined with the unrestricted interactivity of the internet

This application is already being deployed by TechniSat on every connected TV set and set-top box: MultyVision ISIO, TechniCorder ISIO S and DIGIT ISIO S. Thanks to the integrated Opera browser, users can surf freely on the Internet and call up their favourite Web pages directly on their digital television using their remote control.

TechniSat maintains a list of Internet offerings that is continually extended and is optimised for display on television screens. The intuitive internet functionality provides video-on-demand and media libraries. Furthermore, the viewer can access directly to FRANCE 24 interactive services. In addition, the ISIO Smart TVs and set-top boxes offer an access to a wide variety of attractive services like TechniSat ISIOLive! Portal or AUPEO! – the personal radio. Finally, HbbTV provides information and multimedia content from the Internet alongside the TV program currently being watched.
