Digital HDTV satellite receiver for the reception of free-to-air and encrypted television and radio programmes (in accordance with MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard). In addition, there are numerous multimedia functions providing additional features. In addition to the usual wide range of programmes, the DIGIT HD8-SX will also receive high-definition television broadcasts (HDTV). As HDTV is also increasingly being used in the field of encrypted programme contents, the DIGIT HD8-SX is enabled for the reception of such programmes through being equipped with the integrated CONAX decoding system as well as with two Common Interface slots (CI).These slots provide the facility to expend the DIGIT HD8-SX with any decoding systems. This ensures the viewer is ideally equipped for all future developments. MULTIMEDIA ARTIST The DIGIT HD8-SX provides numerous multimedia connections and interfaces. Two USB 2.0 ports are available for connecting mass storage media (such as USB sticks, external hard drives or digital cameras). A versatile card reader facilitates the use of flash memory cards in the following formats: SD/MMC and MS. (These cards are used, for instance, in digital cameras, multimedia players or in mobile phones). The DIGIT HD8-SX supports the new high-speed flash memory SDHC standard (SD high capacity or SD 2.0), allowing you to read cards with a capacity of up to 16 GB. All these multimedia interfaces allow the HDTV receiver to output a wide range of media directly to the television set or to a hi-fi stereo installation. The wide spread MP3 format can be used to play music or audio books, Your holiday photographs can be played directly from the digital camera or from the memory car, and videos, too, can be played directly from a memory card. Private MP3, pictures or video collections can easily be shown and played on a home movie installation. The DIGIT HD8 –SC is a fully-specified multimedia centre, and thus naturally also supports the widespread MPEG-2 format. OPTIMUM PROVISION WITH INTERFACES The DIGIT HD8-sx provides an optical as well as an electrical output for Dolby Surround- Sound in AC-3 format. It is simple and convenient to connect the receiver to your own Dolby Surround system. The HDMI interface ensures the HDTV receiver and can be easily be connected to monitors, screens and beamers that bear the “HD ready” logo. In addition, a component video output (YpbPr version) allows you to transmit the HDTV signal to projectors that do not have a HDMI connection.
